nostalgia
My nostalgic works are a yearing for my past, a romanticized and edited down version of my most cherished memories. Its so easy to reflect on the past and long for its return and see it through rose colored glasses. In reality our memories shift and change and our current understanding and perception of certain memories only having positive qualities isnt really realistic. Its more so a desire to escape from the present moment which is less desirable. Through the nostalgic series, I investigate my memories of adolescene where life seemed so much more rich than it does now in my adult years. I use palettes of rich saturated colors and reference old photographs that I took myself. These works transport me to the past, to a better time.fix photoremove?remove?remove?
